To all of the questions, the answer is love.
What does the world need more of? Love.
What would help your family situation? Love.
How can I make the world a better place? Love.
What do you want at the grocery store? Love.
See? It works.
It’s New Years Eve 2012 and I am feeling reflective and in awe. I have just spent the entire second half of December being immobile on my couch due to a debilitating back strain. It’s was truly terrifying to be unable to move to do even the simplest things. But now, almost 3 weeks later, I am able to walk again, take care of my dog, and be a more active member of my world again. The fact that it’s also New Years Eve, a time of great transition and power for me is just happenstance. It really is making me see the world in an entirely new light.
And while there certainly will be an upcoming series about what I’ve learned through my injury, the simple truth is, it’s all about love.
Love for each other, love for yourself, compassion for strangers.
If we can love, a little bit each day, and then a little more the next day, we’ll all be alright.
So that’s what I want for you to take into 2013, a resolution to love more. Start with yourself and let is spread out to others. You’ll change the world, one day at a time.
